Valuation of a Defined Benefit Superannuation Interest
Our defined benefit superannuation interests are valued on a scheme basis. This means that we have researched the design of each of the schemes we support and derived a valuation methodology that makes it easy for our users.
Our users require less inputs as we have transferred the complexity of each scheme away from the user to the internal computations of our valuation model. As well as an accurate valuation, you save time and effort.
For example, to derive a valuation from scratch for the Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme for preserved benefit interest, you need 18 inputs and an understanding of the inordinate complexity of scheme design and the application of the Family Law mandated valuation process specific to that design. For our valuations, you enter just 4 inputs plus name, date of birth etc to identify the member. SuperValuers provide the easiest way to obtain a valuation.
Return to topValuation of an Accumulation Interest
SuperValuers provide valuations in two circumstances:
- where the required valuation date is different from that supplied by the trustees, our valuation methodology applies the mandated interpolation to derive the correct valuation.
- where the Family Court registries require an affidavit attesting to the value of the accumulation interests.
Provision of an Affidavit
We offer Affidavits (Form 16) for Court proceedings. In most cases, an Affidavit will not be required before a Court hearing becomes a certainty. We require 2 weeks notice to ensure your timely receipt of an Affidavit. Please email affidavit@supervaluers.com.au for more information, or submit your enquiry via our feedback form.
Return to topExpert witness for Family Court Purposes
SuperValuers will provide an expert witness to attest to its values at any Family Court proceedings. This can be done in person or via telephone in some circumstances. If this service is required, you should make arrangements at the time of requesting the Affidavit.
